DIY Arrangements Checklist

For the beginner, it can be overwhelming to keep track of all the tools you might need to make your own wedding arrangements. Here are some checklists to help keep you organized.

Basic Supplies and Requirements

  • Sharp snips or scissors (Standard paper scissors or kitchen scissors can work in a pinch. Garden pruners aren’t always preferred unless they are making clean cuts.)

  • A place to store your flowers and arrangements before the event.

  • A method of transporting your flower arrangements safely, without them tipping or sliding around.

Supplies for Bouquets

  • Zip ties or 1/4” waterproof floral tape to tie off the bouquet.

  • Ribbon to cover the tie-off. Satin is a popular option and silk is a premium option. Consider if you want to have tails and if so, how flowy is the ribbon you are considering.

  • 3/4” Corsage Pins for securing the ribbon. The shorter 3/4” pins are preferred for the bouquet in order to prevent it being too long and poking through.

  • A short vase, like a small mason jar, to store the bouquet in water until the ceremony.

Supplies for Wearables

  • Stem Tape for wrapping stems. This is the “tape” that you activate by stretching as you wrap to expose the glue.

  • 1 1/2” Corsage Pins for boutonnieres and for pin-on corsages.

  • Airtight Storage Container for storing the boutonnieres and corsages in the fridge after assembly.

    For Boutonnieres and Pin-on Corsages

  • Narrow Ribbon or similar to wrap over the stem tape

    For Wrist Corsages

  • A Corsage Form. Our preferred style is a slap-wrist style as it stays tight on many wrist sizes, but any style will do.
